Are you researching candidates for the next elections?

If the election for Governor were today…who would you vote for?

Five leading Republicans have declared thus far:
If the election for Lt. Governor were today… who would you vote for?
What is the difference in responsibilities of office for Governor and Lt. Governor?
“The Governor is the head of the executive branch of the state government and the commander-in- chief of the state’s military forces. The governor also has a duty to enforce state laws, the power to either veto or approve bills passed by the legislature, and the power to convene the legislature. The Lieutenant Governor is a constitutional officer of the state, elected to a 4 year term and serves as President of the State Senate. In the case of the incapacity of the Governor, the Lt. Governor assumes the powers (not the title) of the Governor. Should the Governor die or leave office, the Lt. Governor becomes Governor for the remainder of the term of office.”
-- Candidate for Lt. Governor, State Senator David Shafer
The election for Governor and Lt. Governor will be held November 6, 2018.
